Question by bill: Should i continue studying or find a job, need advice?
Hello there people! I have to make a choice and I need your advice.
I’m currently 25 years old. I only hold a associate diploma in general education from a community college in California. my past work experience have been worked here there short term jobs:
- 3 months as a waiter in a restaurant
- 6 months as a teller in post office.
- 6 months as a activity coordinator in YMCA daycare center.
I got accepted an offer in University of Sydney(i live in australia) to do a Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree for 4 years. It is something similar to a Bach of Science/Arts combined course but the difference is it teaches analytical skills as well(you can google it online). It can be used as a “precourse” for students waiting to move onto medical/ law school postgraduate degree later, if they wish.
According to my age, and the work exp and merits do you think i should take up this offer or go find a job instead?
Financially i can still handle it because i can get a loan from the aus gov’t and they have “student allowances” weekly so i can handle daily expenses.
I just wanted to know if it’s a good decision to study or it’s better to find a job and gain more work experience instead considering my age my situation. Is it critical that i have to have at least a bachelor degree to get a decent job nowadays? I’m not looking to become a doctor or lawyer professional but i do have standards in life and i hope i can be middle class(upper middle) income. Just aiming to live a good life.
But yeah it’s the crossroads now, What Are your advices for me? Thanks.
yeah i just want to see your opinions, pls dont tell me like “this is your life you should think about what you want”.
um.. just weighing a 4 yr bachelor degree certificate or a 4 yr work experience infront of your future employer which one looks heavier?
