This is Paul’s favourite SG song! I managed to get very close for this one! Taken with an Olympus 770. A fantastic night and end to a great tour. (This was my fifth S&G concert and their penultimate ever full concert!

@BigJohnWoody i always have tought just the same, that there was missing a huge last one that would feel like an explosion of pure and awesome music

Peeps, have you noticed, or at least I have, that my most favorite songs written and are sung by the sexiest guys on the planet: Jewish guys! #1- Neil Diamond, #2, Simon and Garfunkel, #3 – the list goes on… WHEW! I ADORE THEIR MUSIC!!!

  6. RatBastardCulhane says:

Garfunkel, is irreplaceable, his big nose, gives him impeccable harmony and tones.
Two Thumbs up for the both of them. They sure beat the sheet out of todays
krap puke monkey vomit music ..

I wish I had heard of that tour. I really got back into listening to them in 2008.
I can’t believe I bought $5,000 worth of tickets for last years supposed tour but I
thought they might never come my way again. And there was no tour.

I don’t usually like live perfomances because they sometimes lack the soul or perfection of the original studio recording, but this was TERRIFIC!! Besides the minor imperfections of this live performance, Paul still managed to do his “magnum opus” JUSTICE!! And the harmonies…Ahh…there’s no other word to describe them other than “ANGELIC!!” They’ve still got it!! |Tom & Jerry| |Art & Paul| |Simon and Garfunkel| Three different ways to describe the Gods of Harmony. Absolutely EXQUISITE!!!

  11. JEFFMM71 says:

who is singing the high part paul or art during the end?

  12. brianca1970 says:

An amazing performance! I agree with “BigJohnWoody” about the hook “half of the time we’re gone”…..only I’d say it’s better than any top 40 clip in the past few DECADES! And does anyone on the planet have a more angelic voice than Art Garfunkel? Doubtful!

This is by far my favorite song of all time. No one could do a better version than Simon & Garfunkel, even at nearly 70 years these old friends have still got it. I was supposed to see them in Quebec this summer until the tour was “indefinitely postponed.” Here’s hoping to another great tour in the coming years.

    UUGH! Did you do Cloverfield?

As a gardener by trade, indeed I get all the news I need on the weather report.

“Weather and authorities permitting…” – The Firesign Theater

I would think Paul Simon’s favourite song would be his own “American Tune” as a soloist…as the construction and mood are a bit similar.

Love the organ breakaway in this one, like the studio version from BOTW

  16. arpionatore says:

On my opinion it’s a love song,or i like to think it.

  17. blueandyellowguitar says:

one of my favourites by S&G <3
im so sad they postponed, and then completely cancelled the show in vancouver last week :’(

  18. mymytheysigh says:

@arpionatore Paul wrote it about Art. So is it a love song?? I guess that’s open to interpretation…

  19. mymytheysigh says:

    @eduardo00178 No!

  20. mymytheysigh says:

@Luccabrozzo If it weren’t for Art, the song would never have been written in the first place, since the song was inspired by Art’s trip to Mexico when he was filming “Catch-22″. Who cares anyway, it’s a great song.

  21. twinoak170 says:

Yo Paul, we love this song.

  22. StrawberryJungle says:

Your camera has excellent sound! :D

  23. blackcountrywoman says:

the “ahhhhhhh”s actually do make the song.

  24. gregormann7 says:

I just might do that. Thanks for your nice reply, and sorry for sounding like a smart arse before.

  25. BlueAndWhiteZebra says:

Thanks. You have a point but in fairness, it is just a small camera and I was there to enjoy the concert as such, and not to officially film it. You can however buy a DVD of this tour and see this song performed with perfect camera work. It’s called the Old Friends DVD and was recorded during the US part of the tour. It is perfect. This is only to give you a taster so I urge you to support the artist and buy the official, perfect DVD. It’s brilliant!
