Galston Gorge is part of the picturesque Berowra Valley Regional Park in Sydney, Australia and separates Galston from Hornsby Heights. It contains a narrow stretch of road with a one-way wooden bridge across Tunks Creek (a tributary of Berowra Creek) and a series of very tight hairpins. Some general info: – Trucks, caravans, buses, and anything with a large turning circles not allowed…..for obvious reasons. – Quite busy during the day especially peak hour, as locals don’t have another viable choice if they want to travel from the Galston side to the Hornsby side (and visa versa). Night runs are one way around this and there isn’t much risk of hitting wildlife at the Gorge. Don’t quote me if you do hit something though. – Lot of blind corners + narrow roads with little margin for error + traffic…….DO NOT RACE THROUGH HERE. – Its more enjoyable to start from the Galston side rather than the Hornsby side – unless you enjoy having your foot on the brakes and navigating tight hairpins while going downhill for 5 minutes. – Beware of cyclists, especially on weekends. The Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras is an annual gay pride parade and festival for the LGBT community in Sydney, Australia, and draws in thousands of visitors from around Australia and overseas. It is one of the largest such festivals in the world, and includes a variety of events such as the world-famous Mardi Gras Parade and Party, Bondi Drag Races, Harbour Party, the academic and discussion panel Queer Thinking, as well as Fair Day, which sees 70 000 people converge on Victoria Park, Sydney. The parade and dance party attracts many international and domestic tourists. Mardi Gras is one of Australia’s biggest tourist drawcards, generating an annual income of about million for the state of New South Wales. It is New South Wales’ second-largest event in terms of economic impact. The celebrations emerged during the early 1980s after arrests were made during pro-gay rights protests that began in 1978. The Parade maintains this political edge, with many floats marching in support of LGBT rights.
