i know there’s certain tension between melbourne and sydney,
but honestly i don’t get why people like sydney.
i lived in melbourne about 7years now, and expected a lot more,
but last week when i first visited sydney, it was quite disappointing.
why the whole cities so packed?
narrow street, building are too close to each other,,,
except opera house, park around st james, i just don’t get why government let developers design the city like that from the first place.
i get there’s couple of pros to live in that city,,,such as
diversity, traffic seems fine, i liked that there’s so many people as well,
(frankly melbourne’s too quite in general)
but i just don’t get some people saying ‘its beautiful city’

Answer by Anne M I am Victorian by birth who has lived in NSW all my adult life. I love Melbourne, it is easy to navigate, has wide streets has great shopping, has beautiful parks and I feel very comfortable there. It seems more elegant, “ladylike” perhaps
Sydney,to me, is the showy “teenager”, full of excitement and anticipation. Its streets are crowded and I cannot find my way around it without a sat nav. But Sydney is a beautiful city with the harbour and romantic little inlets, the Rocks. Sydney looks so pretty from the air when flying in.
