This is an old Otis Pre-Lexan at a parking garage on Sheppard Street in Downtown Toronto (NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH SHEPPARD AVENUE IN NORTH YORK) These appear to be ALMOST completely original, with the sole exception being the door sensor (these used to have bumpers) They run very well Enjoy!

600th VIDEO!!!! This is a way of celebrating that I never expected when I woke up this morning (I was planning on just doing a retake of the Seaberg on Cliff St. downtown, that’s as high as my hopes were). I never thought ANYONE would find something like this, but, here it is. This is a 100% COMPLETELY ORIGINAL OTIS freighter probably from before the 50s. It has the DEAD-MAN’S CONTROL CRANK, which I finally figured out how to use (PULL on the crank towards you, then turn left for up, right for down). It has bi-parting doors which look Peelle and have no windows on the street level and basement, but they might be another brand or even OTIS is they are that new. The other floors have center-opening doors that open outward. This was somewhat hard sneaking on to, but this garage didn’t have much staff. One employee got in the other elevator with a car and took it upstairs (this garage has no ramps, the reason these elevators are here is for transporting cars). The other employee was in the office, so I jumped in this one and took it for a spin. The other one no longer opens to the street and has a replaced crank, which appeared to be GAL, so I was pretty happy he left me with this one. Getting out was very easy, because this opens right out onto the street. Don’t worry, an employee got in and brought it upstairs right after. I didn’t close the door because it would be impossible to call with the elevator having manual controls, and there is no way of unlocking the door from …
